Health Content Creator/Digital Communications Specialist at dQ&A – The Diabetes Research Company

dQ&A is a team of PWD-focused researchers working on diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. We seek a content creator who combines their strong writing skills and social media expertise with their passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people with diabetes. The person in this role will assist with developing a new initiative designed to bring practical resources to people with diabetes and those who care for them.

The person who shines in this role will be:

  • A highly energetic writer focused on diabetes and health.
    You understand diabetes and have a passion for writing on the topic. You are experienced at writing for the public in a variety of forms including, social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
  • A safe pair of hands with multiple projects.
    You can plan, manage, and execute on projects from beginning to end. You can manage more than one project at a time. You’re highly self-directed and comfortable working with remote teams and can be the primary point of contact with various vendors.
  • A storyteller, effective at translating medical jargon into simple and understandable terms.
    You should be comfortable with reading medical reports and turning them into shorter, easily digestible articles that are compelling to read. You’re able to rewrite straightforward facts into inspiring, helpful messages that display compassion in voice and tone.
  • A social media enthusiast, creative thinker who delivers innovative ideas.
    You love being creative and have a lively interest in social media, digital trends, tracking traffic metrics, and analyzing Google and social media analytics. You enjoy brainstorming, reviewing data, monitoring current events, and using that information to fuel innovative ideas that close gaps in information within the diabetes and health ecosystem. Experience in Graphic Design preferred.
  • A seasoned communicator with varied audiences.
    You know how to communicate with social media followers, influencers, as well as medical professionals, internal and external stakeholders in ways that cultivates and maintains positive relationships. Ideally, you would have had experience working with material that has been translated into other languages.
  • A mission-driven team member.
    You’re ready to use your skills and experience to make a positive difference. You value the work that we do, and you want to do work that helps improve the lives of people with diabetes.

The role

  • This is a full-time employment position with great health and 401k benefits, and a competitive base salary.
  • Remote working is welcome. One-third of the team is based in San Francisco.
  • The role may involve occasional travel to conferences and to our offices in San Francisco.
