Research by Trevor Bell Published in Current Diabetes Reports

Current Diabetes Reports recently published research done by dQ&A Research Manager, Trevor Bell. Psychosocial Assessment Tools for Youth with Type 1 Diabetes: a 10-Year Review focuses on the critical role psychosocial issues play in diabetes management. There has been a significant push for healthcare providers, researchers, and policymakers to take these into account when working with patients. This is especially true for youth with Type 1 diabetes who have to deal with the demands of diabetes management while also facing challenges that emerge while growing up.

“One of the best ways that we can understand what youths are facing is to assess these factors through research. However, psychosocial issues are so broad and there are so many ways we can assess them. So we looked at 10 years’ worth of published articles evaluating psychosocial issues affecting youth to identify the most common, and hopefully most effective, ways to assess these issues, while also uncovering how the field is evolving.” explains Trevor about the research he and Elizabeth Hazel conducted.
